Has Your Appearance Changed Since Having Kids?

As if raising eight kids isn't enough for Jon Gosselin, in last night's episode of Jon and Kate Plus 8, the 31-year-old had a hair transplant. The good-natured guy attributed his hair loss to the stresses of being married and having kids, while Kate reminisced about the tendrils he had when they met.

The couple talked candidly about the toll that parenting has taken on their looks. From Kate's complimentary tummy tuck to Jon's new 'do, they took advantage of the cosmetic opportunities they've been offered. Has parenthood physically affected you or your spouse? Source

Not that this is truly an effect of my being a Mom, but I do feel like I look better - I have a better haircut, and I've dropped some weight. But people do tell me that motherhood agrees with me and part of it is I do feel better in my skin regardless of the external stuff.

I feel like I've grown up an so have my looks. Yes there are days I just look so beat up, but it's all worth and yes I would like my stomach back but my husband loves me no matter what.

No problem getting my body back after one and two but can't seem to find it after number three!

I feel sexier after having a baby. I feel like I have more confidence in my body. I'm not sure if that's because I saw what it can do, or that I lost all modesty after being in the hospital...but either way, I love my post-baby appearance!

I do have to say, if I was Kate and I carried six babies, I would take that tummy tuck in a heartbeat! I would question her sanity if she turned it down.

I'm just not interested in buying myself clothes now. I love buying her clothes.

My features have definitely matured, and quickly after I had my son too. I was happily shocked that it happened.

I'm about the same. I had two babies in two years, but I'm young and we eat really well.

My belly button looks different though! I swear pregnancy alters all belly buttons!

I don't look old, but the stress of having three kids has definitely aged me. I can tell a difference in my skin and I think it is mostly from lack of sleep. I also don't dress up like I used to, since I don't work outside the home.

Let's be realistic... carrying a baby can't make your body better. SOme are lucky and return to their old self. Then come sleepless nights, chasing kids around, worrying and constant work because you have more people to care for other than you. Plus, you're constantly aging. I don't see how one could get better looking. Puzzled Maybe less concerned about your appearance but not better looking.

Romaniagirl...I would think that a women could get more curvy in the right places which would make them better looking.

I stayed pretty much the same as I was before. My body did not change from having my daughter and it was back to normal a week after I delivered.

For me, my breasts were SO much better after my first son. I loved them! Then I had my second... When I first stopped pumping (I couldn't traditionally breast feed) I wanted to cry, they were so sad and, um, long? For lack of a better word. They bounced back a bit but not quite as same as they were post baby two. Hubby loves them no matter what so I'm good Smiling

I looked better after having my two kids because I was very happy. I also was back in my pre-pregnancy clothes 6 weeks after my first baby, and after the second had 15 lbs. more on me, but still fit in size small...it's just that my body had shifted around a bit, but still thin.
Kids are grown now...that's another story. If you think that toddlers stress you out...wait until they are teens! LOL! After going through their teen and college years which will age you tremendously...then you can look forward to the day that you can finally rest. Don't worry, they will be ok and have their own lives. They will remember the good times when they were kids, and they really won't stray far from the way you raised them. (Believe me...at times you'll really be holding your breath at that one!)

When you look in the mirror...you'll see a different woman. Always take care of your appearance though..even when my kids were small I had very long hair which I set daily and always wore makeup. To this day I take care of my appearance. You'll get lines and wrinkles as you age, but you've earned them! Being a Mommy is hard work!

Life happens...so have a lot of pictures taken of you when you are young, because it is fun to look back and say "darn...I did look good at one time"!

Live...Love...and Laugh a lot. Life is short. Love your parents, because once they are gone, all you have left are photographs and memories.

I'm now a grandmother of two little girls, and even though I'm not that wrinkle free slim young mom anymore...I get more hugs and kisses than I could ever want! They love me just the way I am.

Please..all of you who read this... ENJOY EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE!
GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU MOMS (AND DADS TOO)!

I look way better than I did before I had kids. I didn't gain a lot of weight during my pregnancies and lost what I did gain quickly, but I was a little chunkier before I had children. Now I am MUCH more healthy, watch what I eat and I exercise and take better care of myself. I also feel like I have so much more confidence. Especially when people can't believe I have 2 children and look the way I do.

The only thing that doesn't look better, are the few stretch marks I have and my scar on my belly button from having my tubes tied.......

I am sorry but motherhood has made me more beautiful.
I was a lot thiner in my days without child but honestly I am more healthy now.
I have a lot more confidence and am much more comfortable in my body.
I may not be stretch mark, stomach pooch free but I care about myself more, wear make-up and take the time to get dressed in the morning (I wore sweats straight through college, I was a college athlete).

of course the lack of sleep and time or energy to care too much anymore about hair and makeup makes a difference , not to mention having your insides stretched out like that LOL but I think we can all agree, totally worth it Smiling
