Binary Wedding Bands - I Do or I Don't?

Over and over I tell the world: geeks are just like you and me. And then I run across something like the Binary Wedding Band, which is hand carved by artist Gideon Weisz, and I wonder. I like to say that I'd probably adore any ring my fiancé slipped onto my finger, but having recently enlisted my sister to be his stylist when that day comes, I'll freely admit my ring snob tendencies run a little high.

Says the seller's website: Computers, like our love, are built upon very simple foundations. In the case of computers, that foundation is binary code. These sophisticated, yet simple rings ($950) bear your personalized message in that computer code.

Being that this is a band, I am going to assume this is predominantly aimed at the kind of guy that proposed to his girlfriend with a Mac widget, in which case, congrats!

    I like these. I think my girlfriend would like them too. But we already have some picked out. But the binary geekiness is subtle and that makes them look sophisticated. A yes for me!

    Ooooooo! If they had had these 17 years ago when Hubby and I said "I Do", we would both be wearing one! I'll never swap my original wedding band, but would love this as an aniversary gift. It could be a great right-hand ring. Or maybe even to be worn above the engagement ring like some women wear an eternity ring! Smiling

    Um, no. But I am sure there are people out there who would LOVE it, and the guy who made it is prob going to make a fortune off if it

    rotfl 7...that would have been perfect for our renewal ceremony on our 15th anniversary. We held it on the bridge of the Enterprise at the Star Trek attraction in the Las Vegas Hilton!

    The more I think about it, this is extremely unique and a great way to express your love for another person. I know some brides get both a "dress" and "everyday" band, and I think this would be a great for the everyday. It's so personal and you and your beau and the only two who need to know it's meaning. Love it!

    Not for me, but then I don't know binary code.
    If I did, I'm sure I'd be on it.

    i like the idea as a ring just not a wedding ring. they're very expensive comparatively when you think of other bands.

    I love this, but not as a wedding ring. As long as I've been waiting to marry my fiance, I don't think the casual path is gonna do it for me. >.>;;
