Sony's Scented DoCoMo Cell Phone: Love or Leave?

How would you feel if your cell phone released a fragrance—no I'm not kidding. The Sony Ericsson DoCoMo SO703i phone does just that by including a replaceable scented strip near the center hinge. Featured on Trendhunter, the DoCoMo comes in a variety of designs as each includes a different aroma sheet which resembles that of a scratch and sniff sticker. Why would anyone want a smelly phone? Supposedly the aroma is intended to relax cell phone users while they make calls. Each scented strip is said to only last about three months, which may be a blessing in disguise in case the first scent gets more irritating than enjoyable!

What do you think? Love the idea or not a fan? Leave your comments below!

It would be cool if it sprayed out a smell whenever you received a phone call. You could customize different smells for different people.

Yeah that is a bit strange! Plus if ppl around you didn't like the scent they would be all "Man what is that horrible smell!"

Ha!!! That's awesome. I didn't think of that, but your pocket or bag would stink at the end of the day getting calls.

did they do a study that showed that people's cell phones smelled too yucky and thought this would rectify the problem? seriously.

Um, no. Just no. Those super chemically smells are always yucky and there are plenty of people out there that are allergic to them. Don't want a pine air freshener right next to my face!
