Would You Want a Motorized TV Under Your Bed?

I don't know why I'm so fascinated with luxury gadgets. It's probably because they are usually intricate, flashy, and I can never afford them. I was hoping to see more luxury electronics at CES this year, but I did manage to come across this bad boy—The K2 Mounts under the bed lift. As you'll see in the video below, it's a custom lift that raises your flatscreen out from under the bed to an ideal viewing height. And it can be all yours for around $17,000. It seems like a rather large contraption to me (and somewhat dangerous), I'd rather settle for a bed that comes with the flatscreen built in! What do you think?

i dont like electronics near my bed all because one of the first nights i spent with my husband, when we were still dating, i kicked something off the bed and it turned his playstation on and i heard the whirring noise of the disc in it and i thought it was something moving around like a rat or something, yeah his place was pretty gross . . . but seven years later were married and our place is nice and clean and electronics stay away from the bed, we wouldnt want what we call "the playstation" monster getting me Sticking out tongue

I don't really like electronics in the bedroom either- but especially if you had pets... that thing looks kinda dangerous, and if poor kitty was in the wrong place at the wrong time...

It's completely over-engineered. I stayed at a hotel that had the tv in a cabinet and there was a remote that you could use to raise the TV up out of the cabinet. I could see building something like that into the footboard of a bed. I'd prefer that than accidentally vacuuming/breaking the tv that's hidden under the bed.

Sort-of cool however I prefer/ feel safer with my flat screen on a table. I have pets and they go under my bed; my luck they would nail the screen or harm themselves.

We don't have a TV in our bedroom right now anyway, so I certainly couldn't see us spending $17,000 to put in a motorized one!

Seems like a cool concept but I think I would be scared of it falling on me or something, plus it doesn't look kid friendly.

This would be great for a single person. But for someone that has children that loves to bounce on the bed, then NO WAY. This is too expensive to be under the bed with them around. Other than that, then yes it's great for a single person.
