In celebration of this week's MacWorld event (and
last year of Apple participation), I'm reminiscing pretty hardcore. Today's trivia question concerns the most legendary of Steve Jobs announcements. When the first iPod was revealed in 2001, how much did the 5GB version cost?

Phew, a happy ending to a tourists-getting-lost story! A couple of tourists who got lost in the cold, snowy Swiss mountains
were saved by the light of their MP3 player, whose faint light was seen by the rescuers on the lookout for them.
I count myself lucky that I've never been in a scary situation I've needed to be rescued from, but I often consider what would help me in an emergency like that — the GPS on my phone is not only good for trying to find a restaurant I've never been to.

A teenager who had surgery to remove a brain tumor made news when he also
listened to his iPod during the procedure (well, while he was conscious). It reminded me of how I always listen to my iPod when I'm at the dentist; not having to hear the drill as loud saves me from having minor freak-outs.
It's not just the sound of my preferred music that I like, either; having something I'm so familiar with is comforting, and a great distraction if I'm enduring something painful or uncomfortable.
If I were a rich girl, then this
iLuv iPod Holster $60 could be mine.
Would I buy it though? In its gold glory, it's kind of a fun display of empty excess, but I don't know if that's really my MO.

If you're doing
stretches to cool down or
plank poses for strength training, how long you hold each move is crucial. I like to stay in each stretch for 30 seconds, while I do the plank for different amounts of time depending on how much of a workout I want. But I often find that my perception of 30 seconds is skewed from reality!

Looks like Bella, I mean
Kristen Stewart, could still find time to stop into the Apple Store in NYC yesterday, despite the non-stop
Twilight promoting.
And why shouldn't she? When you need a new iPod (apparently what she was shopping for), you go get yourself a new iPod.

It's hard to believe that the product that put Apple back on the map just a few years ago, the iPod, only accounted for
14 percent of Apple's sales revenue this year. Of course, Apple is doing great, thanks to strong sales of the iPhone and computers, it's no longer just dependent on the growth of the iPod.
No doubt Apple's success today is indebted to the iPod, which after
its seventh birthday just may still be my favorite Apple product.

Can you believe it? Seven years ago today,
Apple introduced the first generation (5G)
iPod. With a hard disk drive, mechanical scroll wheel and a FireWire port, the device was unlike any other mp3 player on the market at that time.

If your lil one is a music fan, or is used to seeing you attached to your iPod, you may want to re-consider throwing away the box when your next package arrives. With a lil paint, minimal artistic talent and a few supplies you will find around your home, you can easily create an iPod costume for your budding music man.
Supplies you will need:
- Medium-sized cardboard box
- Red and gray paint (the Livos Salis finger paints can be diluted with a little water to make them paintbrush accessible)
- Box cutter
- Poster board
- Rubber cement or glue
- Plastic wrap
- Tape

First of all, I love the name of this band. Woo-hoo, galaxy tour! Their song, "Around the Bend," is basically what you would listen to if you were, say, an asteroid rocketing around the galaxy.
