Texting While Driving Gets Banned in California

This past July, a new law came into effect that now requires millions of Californians to use hands-free technology like headsets and bluetooth-enabled devices while driving. Well on Wednesday, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger began signing bills into law, one that includes banning text messaging while driving. According to SFGate, the bill SB28 will ban texting while driving and forces drivers to keep their "hands on the wheel and their eyes on the road," said Schwarzenegger in a written statement. Other states that have already adopted this law include Louisiana, Minnesota, New Jersey, Connecticut and Washington.

Paris Can't Keep Her Hands Off the Gadgets

The queen of cell phones, Miss Paris Hilton, sure does know her way around a BlackBerry keypad, but who knew she was so intrigued in other gadgetry goods? While at the Sundance Film Festival, Paris chatted with Virgin America's director of in-flight entertainment and partnerships, Charles Ogilvie, about the new in-flight, seat-to-seat instant messaging keyboard. She told Ogilvie that she can't wait to try out the new high-tech entertainment system on an upcoming trip to New York and on the airline’s debut of in-flight WiFi, which will happen sometime this year.Paris was also spotted at a Philadelphia mall a week later promoting her new movie Hottie and the Nottie and showing off her photo skills with a Flip digital camcorder. . . . Now I wonder if she uploads herself, too?!

Isn't it always the case that as soon as you put your cell phone in that hot little Gucci clutch purse, you end up missing three calls and eight text messages?! Unless I have my BlackBerry on some serious vibrate action, there's a slim to nil chance I will ever know if someone is trying to get a hold of me— that is, if my phone is in my handbag. Cell phones are among the worst because they come in contact with our hands, face, purses, desks and many other dirty hot spots. I periodically wipe down my cell phone with a damp cloth and always wash my hands, but I can't help but get a few pesky pimples on my cheek or jawline- the exact spot where I hold my cell phone. First we saw Paris Hilton Learn Computer Skills, now Jessica Simpson is taking her stab at technology by discussing the internet. Actually, it's Simpson playing a fictional character of herself called "Jessica Sampson" in an old sitcom pilot for ABC. Here's a snip it of just one of the ridiculous lines from the skit (in reference to the internet of course):"it's a bookshelf with different books of all books"... I wonder if her real-life explanation of the net would be far off from this one?! Mayer might need to give her a crash course in "internet for dummies."

I can't believe I was in the dark until now about this simple but yet amazing BlackBerry feature - three way calling (the novelty never wears off).

Now you can have the gift of gab with three of your girlfriends at once. Just follow these steps to get your group call started asap!

While in your first call, hit the space bar to bring up your recent call list.
Choose a contact to dial from the address book. When you start dialing, the original caller is placed on hold.
After the second caller answers, swap back and forth between callers or join the two with you.

Geek Tip You can also use this features when you receive an incoming call during an existing call. The caller you have in call waiting can join with the new caller. Love it love it love it!

How To Clean The Screen Of Your Motorola Razr

We've had alot of people asking us how to get the nasty dust and dirt out from under their Motorola Razr V3 screen. We understand how traumatic it can be to not see your caller ID properly, so in efforts to assist, here are some tips to help you combat those pesky Razr dust bunnies!

Get a pin with a sharp head. You can use a sewing needle.
Wedge the pin under the top corner of the screen.
Apply pressure, and lift up the corner of the thin plastic screen (it is usually stuck down with a bit of glue). If you just so happen to break the screen, because you're overly excited about cleaning your screen, you can find a cheap replacement screen at a cell phone store.

Surprisingly, the celebrity gadget endorsements hit an all time low this week, as the Oscars opted not to pass out the famous gift bags. Still, La La land wasn't without geek gift suites - the Gadget Universe debuted what its makers are calling "one of the most innovative vehicle protection devices for celebrities" - a Spion Vehicle Safeguard video recording device that you can place on your dashboard or in the back of your car so you can catch all those pestering photographers following you. Or, if your name is Brooke Hogan, your dad can install it so he can keep tabs on you around the clock.

The device uses three AAA batteries and records onto an SD card up to 2GB, giving you four hours of total record time that can be transferred to your computer.
