It's not everyday you see prices like this — especially for a BlackBerry — so I had to share the news in case you've been holding out for one for awhile. Verizon is now offering the pink and silver BlackBerry Pearl 8130 for $19.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate. Yes, you'll still need to be locked into a two-year contract, but for this fantastic price, I doubt you'll have many regrets. I don't think I've ever spotted a BlackBerry this cheap — actually, not true — I came across a $0 Pearl deal in Ontario, Canada, over the holidays. Not too shabby of a way to start 2009 if you ask me!

T-Mobile Adds Freshly Painted Pearls to Its Collection

If you head on over to a T-Mobile store today, you'll be able to feast your eyes on the new BlackBerry Pearl 8120 colors, which include black emerald, indigo, and frost. You can also still pick up the original titanium design, although I'm sure people will be scooping up the new hues. Hello? Frost for Winter — me loves that! The WiFi enabled phones will cost $150 with a two-year contract with T-Mobile.

Paris has sure had a gadget-filled month, although I'm sure this phone tops her cell phone favorites list. So many great features are wrapped up in this adorable handheld smartphone. With web browsing, a 2-megapixel camera, a media player with microSD memory support, a QWERTY keyboard, and VZ Navigator for spoken turn–by–turn directions, you can't help but get excited about this fashionably functional phone . . . Talk about Sprint and Verizon going head-to-head! According to RIMarkable, a red Sprint BlackBerry Pearl 8130 has been spotted on sale from Amazon. Unlike Sprint, Verizon has decided to go pink with their Pearl. The Boy Genius Report says that this pink model is now being showcased on Verizon's "Next" page and is rumored to become available at the end of this month. Are you digging either one? Geek Tip: Taking Notes on Your BlackBerry During a Phone Call

Whenever I'm on the phone and I need to write-down a message, I can never seem to find a pen and pad handy. I know how to take notes on my BlackBerry when I'm not on the phone, but I didn't know you could actually record notes during a phone conversation. Well there's actually an easy way to do this without hanging up on the person (that is if you have a BlackBerry). Here's how:

While you are on the phone, click the trackwheel.
Navigate to the notes icon.
Open notes and start typing your text.
What's great is that the notes will stay attached to the phone number in the log.
You can also attach them and forward them to a friend.

This hot off the press news from The Boy Genius Report is kinda a big deal in my world. Research In Motion (the big wigs of BlackBerry) have just announced that the BlackBerry Pearl 8130 features an updated visual interface and lots of wonderful new features. The new and improved Pearl comes with a 2.0 megapixel camera that includes video recording capabilities—something my iPhone doesn't even have! You can even choose which resolution you want to capture your video with for easy sharing via MMS. Also included is the built-in GPS—our BlackBerry prayers have certainly been answered! Love It or Leave It? New BlackBerry Pearl Colors

So the pastel BlackBerry Pearl colors weren't exactly legit, but these three new colors did appear on the T-Mobile website, so I'm sure we'll see more of them very soon! The Pearl "refresh" colors, which I spotted on The Boy Genius Report include red, gold and blue. The phones don't appear to have received any hardware updates or features, just a new coat of paint. How To Change Your BlackBerry Pearl's Color

If you happen to have a BlackBerry Pearl I suggest you take a tip from the Spice Girls (hey, they are hot again, right?) and "spice up your life." You can do so by downloading ColorPearl, which allows you to change the color of the trackball on your BlackBerry Pearl. You can get the download for free from Viral Electronics. An easy way to get the software on your Pearl is to email the downloadable attachment to yourself and open it on your BlackBerry.

Note: The BlackBerry 8800 and Curve/8300 do not have the colored LEDs behind the trackball, so there is no way to make ColorPearl work on them. You can change your Pearl to white, red, green, blue, cyan, yellow, pink, custom or random.

Ooo la la. Feast your eyes on these extreme makeover Blackberry Pearls. According to the Boy Genius Report and his insider info, the very popular BlackBerry Pearl could soon be re-named the BlackBerry 8120. New and improved features are said to include more color choices like black, red, titanium, blue and gold (what about the pastels shown below?), a 2-megapixel camera, GPS, and WiFi. This new model may be available in stores as early as September, but as to which carrier will be picking it up, that is still unknown. Do you think these "new" features are worth trading your BlackBerry Pearl in for the rumored 8120? Is it just me or do you think that WiFi should be standard across all mobiles?

Now she has been spotted with an LG vx9900, which is a clear downgrade from the BlackBerry. Call me a CrackBerry addict or BlackBerry biased, but I can't seem to comprehend what Britney is doing with a phone that was popular circa 2006 cell phone? Keira and Madonna Heart Their BlackBerries

Everyday I see pictures of celebrities with different cell phones, MP3 players and trendy gadgets on PopSugar and wonder, how do they pick which phone to be photographed 10,000 times with and more importantly, are they getting paid to flash a little RAZR or BlackBerry love? My favorite Techie Diva Gina Hughes recently informed me of a new study that shows cell phones do say a lot about our personality. "Phones are an extension of our personality and the reason we pay a lot of moolah to have them covered in Swarovski crystals," says Hughes. "That's not to say we solely judge a phone by its cover. This generation of tech-savvy consumers has all the shopping comparison tools they need to make an informed decision."

I agree with her wholeheartedly, particularly her point that mobile phone companies "will do anything to get their phones into celebrity hands as a tactic to make them more desirable."
So how can you tell if a celebrity really loves their shiny gadgets and when it's just product placement? It's sometimes hard to say unless it's an official campaign. What we do know is, we've seen Courteney Cox, Paris Hilton, Jamie Foxx, Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Aniston exposing their BlackBerries amid armfuls of other gadgets. This past weekend, PopSugar spotted Pirates of the Caribbean star Keira Knightley waiting for an important call on her BlackBerry, while Madonna seems to always carry hers between Pilates classes. I guess we'll never know...

I was walking by the T-Mobile store on the way back from lunch yesterday and I noticed their big sign outside advertising the new white Blackberry Pearl. Being the geeky but charming woman that I am I convinced the very nice guy behind the counter to let me check out and photograph the sexy thing. Yeah, that's right, I called it sexy.

The lustrous pearl white finish is essentially the only difference between the new model and my black one (pictured above). Wondering why I am so obsessed with the Pearl?
