I know the Diana Dreamer Camera had a lot of fans when I posted it, both for its romantic results and its vintage styling, and now Urban Outfitters has introduced a custom-fit case for it, the Diana Case ($38). It's totally hot (built-in tripod hole!) and totally leather.

I've been looking for cases that conform to camera lenses since I saw Sienna Miller rocking one a few months ago, and the Diana Leather Case is my hippie-chic answer!

Apartment Therapy's house tours are usually envy inducing, but it's mainly due to textiles and interiors; this time, San Francisco resident Philip Maisel showed off something to make any geek jealous: his vintage SLR and typewriter collections.

Maisel, who says he is inspired by nostalgia and loves "old things," doesn't just have these to show his vintage geekery; check out AT's slideshow of his place to see more vintage cameras and a mounted shelf filled with fancy camera lenses and a vintage video camera.

2 Days in Paris: One Photography Dilemma

Now out on DVD, the movie 2 Days in Paris is full of hilarious observations, most of them about relationships, but there was one that really stuck with me, as a travel and photography buff. Early in the movie, Julie Delpy's character Marion discusses a problem with Adam Goldberg's (Jack's) camera. Relentlessly taking photos, Jack didn't seem to be an excessive photographer — that's what you do on vacation, isn't it?

But Marion's argument was enlightening: by constantly taking photos, you're taking yourself out of the situation. By only seeing your surroundings through a lens, are you really seeing it all? When you're just thinking about capturing an image of what you did so you can show someone later, you're there, instead of your actual "there." You're removed from the experience. TouchSight: The Camera For the Blind

It's wonderful that electronics designers are starting to take disabilities into consideration — even if they first start with a hack, like that Rock Band mod for wheelchairs.

This concept design is a camera — for the blind. Called the TouchSight, it would utilize Braille and the other senses to both take photos and then download them later.

While the TouchSight is only a concept now, it was designed by someone from Samsung China — a company that knows a few things about cameras, so there's actual hope for this idea to come to fruition.

Geek Out: How Do You Wear Your Camera?

If your first reaction to seeing Matthew McConaughey with his camera around his neck is "Tourist!," then you're in good company! I thought the same thing, even though I have to cop to wearing my camera around my neck — sometimes. If I have my little point-and-shoot camera, it's always in a case in my bag when not in use, but for my big, digital SLR, it's a different story.

When you take a short break from shooting photos, you're a little less cavalier about putting an expensive DLSR down just anywhere, but if you know you'll be taking more photos relatively soon, it's a pain to put it all the way back in the case.

So there it stays, dangling around my neck like a big, dorky necklace. But whatevs, it's safe. Sometimes I shoot with it around my neck, which ratchets the geek factor right up.

As for our man Mateo here, I have to give him the same pass I gave David Beckham for wearing a cell phone clip on his belt: Hands-on daddies need to be hands-free!

But tell me: What do you do with your camera, SLR, point-and-shoot, Polaroid, Flip video camera, etc.? Do you wear it around your neck or wrist, or always put it away when it's not being used?

SLR Cams Banned at the 2008 Summer Olympics

The International Olympic Committee has already limited internet access for journalists covering the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China — which is bad enough — but now they are even imposing bans on professional camera equipment. The actual definition of "professional camera equipment" wasn't clearly defined on the official Olympics website, but many believe that this includes SLRs with big lenses (ones which would block views for spectators during the games).

Whatever the case, this isn't great news, considering you could take some amazing images with an SLR camera during the games. Although, if you are going to the Olympics, you can still take lots of shots with your point-and-shoot camera, which hasn't been banned . . . yet.

This Camera Charm Bracelet is 18-carat gold with a little diamond for the lens — that actually rotates. The Latest FujiFilm FinePix Includes a Self Timer For Lovers

How often do you use the self timer feature on your camera? I remember the days when I used to set up my 35mm cam for that perfect shot, making sure I didn't waste any of my film. Thankfully with digital cameras, you can snap away and delete all the not-so-hot shots. Well FujiFilm will be releasing its new FinePix Z200fd in Japan on June 7, and it's said to have a neat self-timer feature.

One heart on the LCD screen means two people are sitting beside one another, two hearts means their heads are coming closer together, and three means they are in actual contact (use your imagination on that one).

Because the camera can actually focus in on objects in self-timer mode, the picture quality should be quite good. The cam also comes with a 10-megapixel sensor and a 5x optical zoom, which also makes it a pretty high class camera. Colors will include pink, silver, black/red, and black and it will be priced at $390. Stay tuned for U.S. availability.

Cuff Bracelets Made From Recycle Camera Parts

Here's a novel idea. Take a used camera lens, reshape it, polish it and voila, a beautiful piece of wearable geeky jewelry.

Camera expert Craig Arnold has created a line of bracelets entitled "Re:vision," which come in eight different models with different names pertaining to each.

This white one, entitled the focus cuff, is one of my faves, but they are all so unique it's hard to pick just one! Prices range from $175 - $250 for the bracelets, so I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon. But still, such a neat concept for a bracelet!

Even though I look forward to the megapixel number for digital cameras and cell phone cameras increasing, don't think I'm not a wistful, sometimes very old-fashioned person. I miss the look of film sometimes — its richness and romance that digital, with its sharp edges and modern beauty, lacks. That's why I've been thinking about getting a film camera lately.

Urban Outfitters has a lot of vintagey cameras, but none of them have really tempted me until I saw the Diana+ Dreamer camera. Teenager Hacks His Camera to Shock People and Gets Arrested

A 14-year-old kid got arrested for rigging his camera to shock people, after reading "instructions on the Internet" to do so and taking it to school, Boing Boing reports.

The article doesn't say whether he actually caused someone to be shocked or not, but this just reeks of prank-the-dorky-Science-teacher.

What's interesting about Boing Boing's post is that they point out that they were the ones that posted those instructions. So, uh, I guess it works!

Please, everyone, use this as a cautionary tale and NOT do it: the hacked camera delivers a 600-volt shock (significantly higher, I assume, than the voltage produced by the old sibling-making-static-on-the-rug shock). Owie.

After my melodramatic story about reuniting a lost cell phone with its owner, I was happy to learn that over 90 percent of you said you would do the same. And who can forget the heartwarming story about the young couple in NYC who spent 10 days unraveling clues to get a camera back to its owner. . . Don't you just find it all so serendipitous?! As you can imagine, I was overjoyed to learn that there's a brand new site called I Found Your Camera, which lives up to its name — reuniting lost film, photos, and memory sticks to the appropriate owners. The site has only been up for a week and already has numerous success stories. Now if only they'd start one for cell phones, too!

Last weekend I was out with my girlfriend and I happen to come across a lost cell phone on the street. She told me to just leave it, but my gadget intuition kicked in, and I couldn't help but take it home and attempt to reunite it with its owner. It was late when I got home, but I called the last three numbers on the recent calls list. I didn't seem to have much luck so I decided to wait, hoping that the owner would realize his phone was missing and call it. Sure thing he called in the wee hours of the morning. We ended up meeting the next day and he was overjoyed that someone would take the time and effort to return his phone to him — he had expected it to be stolen or filled with expensive calls to China! I guess I consider losing my cell phone just as serious as losing my wallet because its filled with important data, numbers, and photos. And I would only hope that someone would do the same for me if they found my phone. A young couple in NYC recently spent ten days trying to reunite a Canon camera with its owner, which was left in a taxi cab. After reading clues from the photos and videos on the camera, the couple was able to slowly unravel the mystery and return the camera back to its owner, who lived in Sydney. I'd like to think this is a growing trend, but then again, it's not every day you hear stories like this. What do you think? Would you try to return a lost cell phone or camera back to its owner? Geek Tip: Use Silica Gel to Absorb Condensation on Your Gadgets

Anyone who's dropped their cell phone into a pool or toilet or worse (yikes!) knows that gadgets + water = not cool.
I've told you how to fix your submerged gadgets with rice (it totally works, BTW), but I have another piece of advice regarding the big, bad moisture monster.

To prevent damage to your tech from condensation or light moisture (especially good for damp bags in rainy weather or humid areas), keep packets of silica gel in your gadget bag. This is especially important for cameras and lenses.

Oh, and those silica packets? They come with just about every pair of shoes you buy.

The Hidden Camera Detector from ThinkGeek appeals to the worst part of me — the paranoid, it could-happen-to-me part. I have seen way too many Dateline NBC exposing those with hidden cameras in ladies' bathrooms, workplaces, and even inside your own apartment! See, there it is! In many ways I think this tool could be useful — at the very least, it would put you at ease. Not to mention, it's only $25 and tiny enough to fit in your palm, so no one is aware of your craziness until the thing starts working and emits an audible alarm, telling you that yes, you are on candid camera. What If You Could Get Better Pics on Your Cell?

I love my BlackBerry Pearl and iPhone. I use them for different things (the BlackBerry for work and the iPhone for play) but I have to admit, neither one of them takes phenomenal photos. The iPhone's camera is definitely superior to the BlackBerry's and the fact that it syncs to iPhoto is fantastic, but I wouldn't let anyone take my head shot with it. I am so intrigued by the idea of telescopic zoom lenses for cell phones because it would allow me to take good pictures from afar and sharpen my Nancy Drew skills. Geek haven Brando sells a telescopic zoom lens ($19) that fits on Motorola phones and offers some serious zoomage. Would you use it?

This year we saw our fair share of unique cameras including the Red Oktomat Camera, which has eight small lenses that fire and turn in 2.5 seconds to create a multiframe, miniphoto vignette, the crazy Holga K202 Cat Camera that produces digitized meows to lure in unsuspecting cats for a quick snapshot, the Lomo Colorsplash Camera that uses tinted flash filters and long-exposure settings to create dreamy-streaked, retro-style images and last but not least (and less wacky), Nikon's Coolpix Cam, one of the first cameras to include WiFi technology. I can't help but love the Sundance Camera Tee ($45). It looks cozy and its design is classic geek chic. Sure it would be a little overkill if you paired it with camera earrings and a camera ring, but alone it's cute and artsy. Do you agree?

Kodak to Offer Fashion Accessories for Its Cameras

If you like dressing up your gadgets like me, you'll be happy to know that Kodak will soon be expanding its product line by introducing beaded wrist straps and bags for its camera. As mentioned on Crave, the straps and bags are said to come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes. Each bag includes a handy compartment that will snugly fit a camera and has slide-in holders for SD cards. Larger bags will boast an extra pocket for cell phones. Last week Lifehacker featured a great guide to Using Your Cameraphone as a Visual To-Do List and it reminded me how very useful a camera phone can be. Here are some of my favorite ways to use my camera:

To Do List - Using your cameraphone to make a visual to do list is much easier than finding a pencil and paper because it's already in your pocket. Sometimes I even take a picture of my list with my phone so I don't have to carry paper.
Shopping - My sister and I were shopping for dresses to wear to our friend's wedding a while back and we started taking pictures of one another with our camera phones so we wouldn't forget about potential dresses when we moved on to the next store. You can always send them via text message to a friend for a second opinion.
