Last year around this time, I brought you a list of some airports in the US
that offer free WiFi. Since many of us will be traveling this holiday season — with laptops and cell phones attached at our hips — it's helpful to know which airports won't be charging hefty rates for Internet use.
Many new airports have been added to the WiFi FreeSpot directory, so I suggest heading on over the site to see if the airports you'll be visiting this year
will give you net access for free.

Starbucks has yet to roll out its
free WiFi across the country, but in the meantime, it looks as though other franchises are jumping on board the free WiFi initiative.
With over 15,000 McDonald's already
offering free WiFi, the competition between Starbucks and McDonald's is growing stiffer, and it doesn't seem to be ending there. Although there hasn't been an official announcement, Jack in the Box restaurants across California and Arizona
now have free wireless Internet.

Talk about a great way to start the week! Starbucks has just announced that they plan to deliver
free WiFi to 7,000 Starbucks across the US by early Spring.
Starbucks Card holders (basically just prepay cards for coffee, tea, etc., purchases), will be entitled to two hours of free WiFi a day, while current AT&T broadband users will have unlimited free access to the WiFi service.

I'd be scared to add up all the money I've spent on airport WiFi connections in the past few years. As much as I moan and complain, I'm always willing to spend $5, $10 and sometimes $20 for an hour of Internet access. All hope is not lost.
