The Governor of Alaska and former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin was far away from Alaskan winds last week as she basked in the Miami sun, while taking a break from the Republican Governor's Conference. Considering she will be
playing a big role in the future of our country, it's no wonder she was already back to business — poolside naturally — with her Dell Inspiron laptop. Hopefully she has a
new email account that's got maximum security and is set up with a tricky password.

I know a lot of you may be in the same boat as
HipMom, who recently enlisted my help
in her search for a laptop that not only satisfies her work needs, but that is comfortable to carry, and that falls within a strict budget. She writes:
I need help finding a laptop. This wouldn't be my main computer, (I have a desktop PC I use all the time), but I have started writing and I'd like to be able to just jot stuff down whenever I feel like it, so it seems like a laptop would be a good idea.

As one of my
top five picks for this year's scariest games, I jumped at the chance to get an early look at the zombie shooter
Left 4 Dead at a recent preview party here in San Francisco. Coming next month to your Xbox 360 and PC, I already knew the plot would have you trying to find your way out of a zombie-filled city with you and your three pals. But what I didn't know was that players will also get the chance to play as the zombies, trying to stop the humans from escaping (and eventually becoming dinner).

Microsoft did something right picking Pharrell Williams to declare that he's a PC in their new "
I'm a PC" ad campaign; there's not many celebrities that are as effortlessly hip as him (he'll be joining my
Top 10 gadget endorsers), surely helping turn the company's staid image on its head. Check out this outtakes and interview video of Mr. Pharrell from the ads, talking about his love of music and getting geeky over energy, molecules, and technology.
