Maybe it's our affinity for the Doctor, who has been known to sport a Harris tweed jacket from time to time, but tweed is one of our favorite fabrics. It's such a smart staple to have in your closet . . . or in your bag. In honor of Tweed Day (it exists), cover your tech in tweed, keeping your gadgets warm from the chilly nights of Spring.

Star Wars Universe Descends on Legoland

We've often thought there aren't enough Star Wars celebrations in the world. Thankfully, our Spring is getting a healthy dose of all things Empire and Rebel Alliance with the expansion of Star Wars Miniland at Legoland California. The galaxy's best two inventions, Star Wars and Legos, join forces in seven scenes made from 1.5 million Lego bricks. Our favorite scene is also the most fearsome, that of the opee sea killer on Naboo, but maybe that's just because it's a reminder of Jar Jar Binks. The model designers even crafted three-foot-tall Lego character figurines, which is basically life-size in the Lego world, including Yoda and Princess Leia.

Geek Out: Who Should Play Steve Jobs in the Blockbuster Biopic?

Updated 04/04/12 8:32 AM · Posted by · 2 comments

It was the non-April Fools' joke heard around the Internet: Ashton Kutcher has been selected to play Steve Jobs in an indie film called Jobs. Whether or not you agree with the casting, you have to admit: on the surface, there are some striking similarities. Of course, if you don't agree that Kutcher can pull off the legendary tech innovator on screen, here's something to hold on to: the Sony-backed biopic of Jobs is still a ways off. Which means, there will be more casting news to come for the blockbuster version based on Walter Isaacson's biography.

Jobs is, and has always been, an important part of technology, remaining close to geeks' hearts to this day. If I had my way, Daniel Day-Lewis would be cast in this role already. What about you? Who would you cast in the official biopic of Jobs's life?

Can't wait for May 4 to see The Avengers? Maybe you don't have to. Marvel is offering a chance to see The Avengers early in cities where the film's Facebook page has gained the most fans. Screenings are already set up in LA, NYC, Chicago, Houston, and Miami for April 14, but there are five more available slots. All you have to do is get your fellow fans to like The Avengers' Facebook Page and keep your fingers crossed. You have t-minus one week to assemble; get to work!

Fan screenings will be free on a first-come, first-served basis, so if The Avengers comes early to your town, be prepared to camp out. Preferably in costume.
