Benedict Cumberbatch's Best Movies

The father of computer science, Alan Turing, will finally have his story told in The Imitation Game, which will star Benedict when it hits theaters in 2014. Computer science and Cumberbatch? Two of our favorite things.

Does a mystery show get any better than BBC's Sherlock? True, with our devotion to anything written by Steven Moffat (pictured here with Benedict and Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith), we may be a bit biased; but, the effortless blend of technology, Sherlock's scientific experiments, and the detective's awkward wit make it well worth its rabid Internet fandom.

As the voice of the dragon Smaug, in the next Tolkien big-screen incarnation The Hobbit, not only will we see Benedict return to his devlishly fun ways as a villain, but it's the theatrical reunion of his Sherlock counterpart Martin Freeman who plays the numero uno hobbit, Bilbo Baggins.

In an early, but high-profile role, Benedict had audiences captivated with the sciences as Stephen Hawking in BBC biography, Hawking. His portrayal of the noted theoretical physicist earned him a BAFTA nomination for best actor.

Along with Sherlock writer Steven Moffat and executive producer Sue Vertue, Benedict visited the New York City headquarters of Marvel Comics (we're jealous!) to record a podcast with Marvel writers on their favorite comics and fandom.
