Samsung's new Galaxy Camera ($500) is business in the front, and Android-powered app party in the back. The latest Galaxy device, which hits AT&T stores on Nov. 16, is unrecognizable as a camera from the rear, unsurprising since its 4.8-inch touch display is exactly the same as the Galaxy S III smartphone. It's 3G-capabiblity, courtesy of AT&T's DataConnect plan, uploads photos directly from the camera. You'll need to purchase both the camera and a data plan for network connectivity, but the Samsung Galaxy Camera can upload over WiFi just as well.

Mobile devices like smartphones and tablets have increasingly better cameras these days, and with the release of the newest Samsung Galaxy device, it looks like cameras will have increasingly better mobile operating systems. Samsung's Galaxy Camera is available in white and black models. It's a slim, compact device at 5-inches wide, 2.78-inches tall, and .75- inches thick, and has 8GB of internal storage.

The Software

Android 4.1 (Jellybean) with a quad-core processor powers the device's 4.8-inch display. The previews show the camera running apps like Instagram, music, video, Dropbox, and Photo Wizard, but it's full capability (can it really work just like a phone?) is TBD.

The 1280 x 720 display has 308 pixels per inch. It's an HD Super Clear Touch Display, which as we mentioned before, is comparable to the Samsung Galaxy S III.

The Camera

The CMOS microprocessor takes photos at 16.3MP, and offers ISO settings at 100 through 3200 (plus, of course, auto). The sensor size is 1/2.3-inches. The camera can capture 1080p video with a slow motion framerate of 120 frames per second, and a standard framerate of 30 frames per second.
