Despite studies that say consumers aren't swayed by celebrity endorsements, celebrity-driven gadget ad campaigns are at an all time high.
Whether celebrity gadget sightings are unintentional (take for instance Alicia Keys playing with her Samsung Camcorder at a Knicks game, or Lauren Conrad taking her BlackBerry with her everywhere), others are very intentional and well paid for. The reemergence of HP's The Computer is Personal Again staring Serena Williams got me thinking about the top celebrity gadget endorsements of the last couple of years and why companies continue to use famous names and faces to rep their products.

For my celebrity gadget endorser and cell phone clip-wearing celeb quizzes, the big guess is figuring out the celebrity's face, but today, we're doing something different — this time, you have to guess the gadget the celebrity is pictured with! Pick your geek celeb brain to remember who has a BlackBerry and who has an iPhone, who's been spotted with an iPod, and who's got which kind of laptop! Ready, set, go!

It seems Alicia Keys was more interested in watching the Minnesota Timberwolves play the New York Knicks Game at Madison Square Garden through her tiny Samsung Camcorder last week than watching say, the court.
From what I can tell the songstress has got herself a 2.1 Mega Pixel Miniket Camcorder with built-in 1 GB.
The Miniket allows you access to personal movies, pictures, music, data, web communication and costs $1,599 off the Samsung site.

When Molly noticed Scarlett Johansson has been working both in front and behind the camera for an untitled Woody Allen movie in Barcelona, I wondered what kind of camera the starlet has been using.
My investigation team - made up of camera geek YumSugar and myself - concluded that it must be the uber chic Leica M8.
The model, which is a digital version of the company's famous M camera, was recently released in Europe and is sold in silver and black.

It's almost Valentine's Day and our Geeks We Love series is going strong! Next up: Thomas Houston and Leila Brillson, Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor (respectively) of Switched, a blog covering technology and its relation to all of our other favorite things — fashion, art, and gadgets. Here's what they have to say about their favorite gadgets, their plans for Valentine's Day, and the blog they're thinking of starting together one day (we think it's a great idea, too!).

In last night's dramatic episode of Gossip Girl, there was champagne and celebration mixed with deception and drama amongst our favorite Upper East Siders. We learned that Scott is actually a love child from Lily and Rufus, Chuck is diving into the hotel business, and Serena is making a go of it with Carter (who I'm going to nickname "Cheating Carter"). Whether it's texting or talking on their cell phones, these New Yorkers always have their gadget gear close to them.

Surprisingly, the celebrity gadget endorsements hit an all time low this week, as the Oscars opted not to pass out the famous gift bags. Still, La La land wasn't without geek gift suites - the Gadget Universe debuted what its makers are calling "one of the most innovative vehicle protection devices for celebrities" - a Spion Vehicle Safeguard video recording device that you can place on your dashboard or in the back of your car so you can catch all those pestering photographers following you. Or, if your name is Brooke Hogan, your dad can install it so he can keep tabs on you around the clock.

The stars were out in force for Saturday's Screen Actors Guild Awards, and although some may have been focused on red carpet style, I was keeping my eyes peeled for any tech appearances. Thankfully, I got lucky and spotted award-winning star Diane Kruger posing with Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino in front of her white BlackBerry Bold 9000. We don't see many of these out in the wild too often, but when we do it's always an eye-catcher.

While other celebrities are busy boasting about how they don't know how to turn on a computer, Ashton Kutcher is right on top of tech. He's outfitted with gadgets and has come to love social networking and learning how to be a part of the Internet revolution. He's got his hands in so many different areas of tech that I now must crown him the reigning tech celebrity king (trust me, it's a pretty important title).

Celebrities and the latest and greatest gadgets go hand in hand. When John Mayer isn't getting his hands on Apple and BlackBerry products before everyone else, you can find Paris Hilton picking up a new MacBook Air or The Hills ladies upgrading their BB Pearls to Curves. It's no surprise that big name companies like Nintendo and HP have jumped on the stardom train by hiring certain celebs to help sell their products in various ad campaigns.
