Google Docs Offline

Google Just Changed Work Life For Good

If you still use Microsoft Office, Google is tempting you to switch to its own editor suite of Docs, Spreadsheets, and Slides. Since the service recently hit the 190 million active users mark, it decided it needed a major overhaul. And here's what that looks like.

  1. New apps for Docs, Sheets, and Slides. That means you can now use the complete set directly from an app on your phone and tablet as well as desktop. No more tapping into Drive first to get to a document.
  1. New offline support so you can create, edit, and view files even without an Internet connection no matter what device you're on.
  2. The ability to save and edit all file types — including Microsoft Office — both if you keep the existing format or convert to Google Docs, Sheets, or Slides.
  3. A "suggest edit" mode so you can track suggestions on your document and then either accept or reject those changes.

Sounds like work and school life are about to get a whole lot easier.
